Restylane Filler How to Choose a Clinical Specialist? Anatomy First: Cost, Reviews, Methods | Pascal

Did your last filler leave a lump, or did someone tell you your skin is too thin, so now you're stuck on Restylane filler how to choose a clinical specialist?

Read this before you commit to a syringe in any city.

You'll know what the brand name can and can't tell you, which methods and questions separate one injector from another, what reviews get right and wrong, and what decides the cost. That lets you choose for your face and your budget, with the label as one line on your checklist.

Hello, I'm Dr. Kang Kyoungjin, Representative Director of Pascal Clinic in Seoul. I hold an MD and a PhD in anatomy, and I was formerly a professor of anatomy at Daegu Catholic University School of Medicine.

Pascal has six doctors across plastic surgery, dermatology and oral and maxillofacial surgery, on three floors of one building. 25 dermatologists from Russia have trained here in jawline and lip filler techniques, and our price list is published.

I'm writing this because many people treat a well-known brand as proof of a sound injection, and that belief is where the wrong choice starts.

Choose the person before the product: a licensed doctor who can explain the anatomy of your treatment area, show you the sealed product and describe the plan if something goes wrong. Restylane is one family of hyaluronic acid gels, and the same gel can behave very differently depending on where it's placed.

If a past filler is your worry, send a front and a side photo on WhatsApp with what was injected and roughly when, and ask whether that history changes your options.

Does the Restylane name tell you who should inject it?

No. The name tells you what's in the syringe. It tells you nothing about depth, angle, amount or what lies under the skin at that spot.

Risks and side effects to know

That gap matters most around the nose, the glabella and the folds beside the mouth, where arteries run close to the surface and connect with vessels that supply the eye. The FDA's dermal filler guidance warns that filler accidentally injected into a blood vessel can block it, with consequences that include skin damage, vision problems and stroke. No brand removes that risk.

My own work began in anatomy, and I hold to one position: good results start from an exact understanding of structure, not from feel. So the brand question comes second. The first is whether the person holding the syringe can draw you a map of the area they plan to inject.

What the words clinical specialist can mean

The phrase has no single meaning across countries. Some companies use it as a job title for product trainers. Some clinics use it for staff who inject. A medical specialist is a doctor who has completed training and certification in a named field, such as plastic surgery or dermatology.

So when you work through Restylane filler how to choose a clinical specialist, turn the phrase into three checks. What licence does this person hold? In which specialty did they train? Will they personally inject you, or will someone else?

At Pascal, the doctors' training and focus areas are listed on their public profiles, which you can read on the dermal filler treatment page and the doctor pages linked from it. Whichever clinic you consider, those three answers should be easy to get before you sit in the chair.

Which methods should your injector be able to explain?

A good injector can tell you, in plain words, how they'd treat your area and why. Hyaluronic acid is one of several filler types the American Society of Plastic Surgeons lists, and gels within that group differ in firmness and how they spread. These are the questions I'd want you to ask:

Ask thisA useful answer coversWhy it matters
Needle or blunt cannula here? The choice for this area and its trade-offsEach suits different depths and zones
Which layer will the gel sit in?Depth, and what runs nearbyDepth affects shape and vessel risk
Which gel, and why that firmness?Sealed box, product name, lot numberYou need these records at home
How much today?A small starting amount, reasons for any moreSwelling can hide overfilling
What if the skin turns pale?Stop, hyaluronidase on hand, urgent planThis is the emergency to prepare for

Vague answers about technique tell you something too. If the only reply is the brand name, ask the question again or keep looking.

What do reviews get right and wrong about filler injectors?

Review threads are useful on some points. It's true that the identity of the person who injected matters, and that overfilling is a common complaint. It's also true that asking what product was used is reasonable.

Three common claims need correcting. A smooth result the next morning doesn't prove good technique, because swelling and settling continue for days. One brand doesn't stay in place by nature, since placement, amount and movement all play a part. And dissolving isn't an undo button: hyaluronidase can break down hyaluronic acid gel, though a blocked vessel is a medical emergency that needs far more than a later appointment.

When I would not reach for filler

Say you have thin skin under your eyes, filler from some years back, and someone has told you more gel will fix the hollow. I'd want to know first what's still there, because gel under thin skin can show through and hold fluid. An eyelid is a moving mechanism, and it has to work well before it can look good. Adding volume to a lid area with bulging fat or loose skin may only make it heavier, so I'd raise an eyelid assessment before another syringe.

Other problems also need other tools. If sagging is the main complaint, read how Ultherapy and Ultherapy Prime compare. If width comes from bone, gel can't narrow it, and cheekbone reduction for a softer face is a different conversation. A tethered or indented mark may need one of the scar revision methods, and revision makes a scar flatter, narrower or less visible without erasing it.

Doctor's note

If someone offers you an injection without asking about your earlier filler, your medications or your flight home, I'd slow down. The syringe is the last step of the decision. In my view the map of your face comes first, and you're entitled to see it explained before anything goes in.

What can go wrong with hyaluronic acid filler?

Swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness at the site are common and usually settle within days to a couple of weeks. Lumps, unevenness and infection are less common. Vessel blockage is rare and serious.

Generally, it makes sense to postpone if you have an infection or inflammation at the site, had a recent laser or peel there, take isotretinoin, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have reacted to a filler ingredient. Tell your doctor about blood thinners and past filler too. Surgery and injections carry risks such as bleeding, infection and inflammation, and your doctor should explain them before you decide. Individual results vary.

If you develop severe pain, pale or mottled skin, or any vision change, get emergency care at once, wherever you are. Slower problems, such as a firm tender lump, fever or spreading redness, also need a doctor promptly. Keep the product name and lot number with you, and arrange who you'd see at home before you travel, as the CDC's medical tourism advice recommends.

What decides the cost of your filler treatment?

Four things move the figure most: which gel is used, how much of it your areas need, how many areas you treat, and whether older filler has to be dissolved first. A return visit for adjustment and the days you stay in Seoul also affect your total budget.

Pascal's price list is published in Korean won, before 10% VAT. Final quotes follow your exam, because the right procedure and extent rest on your anatomy. To get a figure for your case, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for the areas you have in mind.

Who would you meet at Pascal, and what should you send?

The clinic is at 157 Dosan-daero in Sinsa-dong, near Sinsa Station Exit 8, open Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00. Plastic surgery and dermatology share the building, so an eyelid or scar question can sit alongside a filler one.

Message us on WhatsApp with your goal and clear front and side photos, and a coordinator passes them to your surgeon and replies with options and the matching price-list lines. Add the one question behind your search for Restylane filler how to choose a clinical specialist. When you come in, your doctor examines you and recommends the treatment that fits your face.

Frequently asked questions

Is Restylane available at Pascal Clinic?

Our dermal filler page describes hyaluronic acid fillers, with the gel and amount chosen at a consultation. It doesn't list a single brand, so ask on WhatsApp which gels are in use for your area.

How long does hyaluronic acid filler usually last?

Generally from several months to a year or longer. Thicker gels, deeper placement and low-movement areas tend to last longer, while lips usually lose gel sooner because they move all day.

Can every filler be dissolved?

Hyaluronidase can break down hyaluronic acid gels, sometimes over more than one session. It doesn't work on other filler types, such as calcium-based or polymer fillers, so keep a record of what you received.

Should I see a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist for filler?

Both fields can provide filler. Compare the individual's licence, training and ability to explain the anatomy and emergency plan for your area, since the specialty name alone won't answer those questions.

Can photos settle whether filler suits me?

Photos help start the conversation and can give you first options. Your surgeon confirms suitability at an in-person exam, where skin, past filler and movement can be checked directly.

I went to get MiraDry treatment, and I liked that the building was huge and the nurses and receptionists were all friendly. Maybe because the director is so cheerful, they were joking around with each other, which created a great atmosphere that really helped ease my tension and made the procedure easier. I also liked that the director didn't seem authoritarian. Getting the anesthetic injection really, really hurts, but... once the anesthesia took effect, the procedure didn't hurt at all. It seems to take about 30 minutes for each side (left and right), and since the anesthesia takes about 10 or 15 minutes to activate, it's probably best to allow at least two hours for the visit. The procedure itself really didn't hurt, and I actually dozed off lol. It was great that the director kept checking to make sure I wasn't in pain throughout the session, and the nurses massaged my arms to make sure I was okay!
