Korea upper eyelid revision cost in Korea: why can't one figure cover a lid that has already been operated on?
Read this before you compare any quotes.
You'll learn what review threads get right, which methods fit which problem, how recovery shapes your days in Seoul and what moves the price. That helps you judge which plan suits your eyelid and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Kang Kyoungjin, Representative Director at Pascal Clinic in Gangnam.
I hold a PhD in anatomy and taught the subject at a medical school before moving into plastic surgery.
I wrote this because people often expect a revision to be quoted like a first double eyelid operation, and the two start from very different tissue.
The cost follows what your earlier surgery left behind and what the lid now needs. For revision surgery, the final quote depends on the condition of that tissue, so it follows your exam.
If you want to start with your own eyes, send front photos with your eyes open and closed on WhatsApp, and ask which price-list lines match your concern.

A first double eyelid operation usually works in layers that haven't been disturbed. A revision meets whatever the last surgeon and your healing left: scar, adhesions, a crease fixed too high, tissue that was removed and can't simply be put back.
I think of an eyelid as a moving mechanism. It has to work well before it can look good. So the first question I'd put to you has nothing to do with crease height: does the lid open fully, and do your brows lift to help it?
A crease that looks uneven may be a crease problem, or it may be one lid opening more weakly than the other. Those are different operations. Good results start from an exact understanding of that structure, and feel alone can't supply it.
Which revision methods fit which problem?
Pascal's upper eyelid revision corrects a crease that has loosened, eyelids that are uneven, or an eye that opens weakly. The table shows the general reasoning, and your exam decides what applies to you.
| What the lid shows | What surgery may involve | Effect on planning |
|---|---|---|
| Crease too high or scarred down | Releasing adhesions, restoring tissue between layers | Often more time in surgery |
| Lid opens weakly | Adding ptosis) correction to the revision | Function work adds to the plan |
| Extra skin, tired midlife lids | Removing skin, adjusting the crease | Depends on extent |
Say your double eyelid surgery was six years ago. Your left crease sits higher, that lid opens less than the right, and you have about two weeks off. I'd look at the opening first, because lowering the crease alone wouldn't address it. Your flight date comes after those answers.
Doctor's note
Anatomy is where I began, so I read a revised eyelid layer by layer. Before I think about the line you want, I want to know what's holding the lid down and what's left to work with.
This logic applies across revision work. Our post on relapse after revision double jaw surgery covers a very different operation, and it also starts with what the first surgery changed.
What moves the Korea upper eyelid revision cost in Korea
Upper eyelid revision cost Korea: the five factors
- Tissue condition. Scar, adhesions and missing tissue change the operation, and this is the main reason revision quotes follow an exam.
- Function work. A lid that opens weakly may need ptosis correction as part of the plan.
- Add-ons. Pascal's list marks add-ons with a plus sign, priced on top of the main procedure, such as fat repositioning added to eyelid surgery.
- Anesthesia. Which type you have affects the plan, so ask which applies to your case.
- Days in Korea. Your stay and follow-up visits sit outside the operation line, so include them in your own budget.
Operation notes, the method used and the date all help your surgeon plan, so gather what you can.
To get the figure for your case, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost, with your photos and those details attached. Your surgeon confirms the plan at an in-person exam. If scarring outside the eyelid also concerns you, our scar revision methods and recovery guide covers that separately.
What do reviews claim about eyelid revision?
Review threads often warn that revision is harder than a first operation. That's medically fair, because scar and tissue loss limit what a surgeon can do.
Threads also say a high crease can always be lowered once you find the right surgeon. That goes too far. Claims that revision must happen within a set number of months are also too tidy. Many surgeons prefer to let swelling and scar settle for several months, and an eye that can't close properly may change that timing.
One person's quote tells you little about your Korea upper eyelid revision cost in Korea, since their tissue and plan aren't yours.
How does recovery change your days in Seoul?
As a general guide, swelling and bruising after eyelid surgery ease over one to two weeks, and incision stitches often come out within about a week. Revision can take longer to settle because the tissue has healed once already, and the crease may keep softening for months.
Pascal is open Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00, and closed on Sundays and public holidays. Check that any follow-up date falls within those hours, and leave a spare day before you fly. Sinsa Station Exit 8 is a short walk from the clinic. Who should hold off, and what can go wrong
Risks and side effects to know
Swelling, bruising, tightness and dry or irritated eyes are common at first, and they usually ease over the following weeks. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons lists eyelid surgery risks that include bleeding, infection, dry eyes, difficulty closing the eyes, numbness and the need for further surgery.
People usually need to hold off or discuss timing first if they have an active eye or eyelid infection, significant dry eye, an unsettled thyroid eye condition, a pregnancy, or a very recent eyelid operation. Tell your surgeon about blood thinners and any earlier eye surgery.
If you notice sudden vision change, severe pain, heavy bleeding or spreading redness after flying home, see a local doctor promptly and bring your operation details. The CDC's medical tourism guidance includes arranging follow-up care before you travel. Surgery carries risks such as bleeding, infection and inflammation, and your surgeon explains them before you decide.
Wondering whether a second operation would help at all? Add the year and method of your earlier surgery to your WhatsApp message and ask that question directly.
