Worried that the stem cell injection cost Korea clinics quote you online will change once you're sitting in a consultation room in Seoul?
Read this before you set a budget for the trip.
By the end you'll know what decides the cost for your own face, what reviews get right and wrong, which methods get sold under the “stem cell” label, and what recovery looks like with a flight home. That makes it easier to tell whether this treatment fits your concern and your budget, or whether something else does.
Hello, I'm Dr. Kang Kyoungjin, Representative Director at Pascal Clinic. I began in anatomy (MD, PhD in Anatomy) and developed the SAFI lifting fat-grafting method, so treatments built from your own fat sit close to my work.
Pascal is in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, a short walk from Sinsa Station (Line 3 · Shinbundang Line), Exit 8. Our list prices are published on the pricing page, shown before 10% VAT, and activated cell therapy is one of the lines quoted after your exam.
I wrote this because people often compare stem cell offers as if they were one product. A drip, a “booster” serum and a treatment made from your own harvested fat are different things, priced on different logic.
At Pascal, the stem cell treatment is activated cell therapy, made from your own fat, and it has no fixed list price. The cost follows how much fat is harvested, which areas are treated, the anesthesia, and whether you need one session or two.
For a first idea about your own face, send clear front and side photos on WhatsApp and name the one area that bothers you most. Ask one thing with them: does this look like lost volume, or thin, tired skin?

Activated cell therapy uses your own cells, taken from your own fat, and it is injected into the face or into an area of damaged skin. The conversation I have at the exam is whether it suits skin that has gone thin and dry, or volume that has thinned with age.
It also comes up for scars and damaged skin, which is why it often sits next to scar revision surgery. The full outline is on the activated cell therapy page.
Good results start from an exact understanding of structure, not from feel. Facial skin sits on layers of fat that thin and shift with age. When the problem is a thinned layer under dry, thin skin, cells drawn from your own fat are worth discussing. When tissue has dropped, I wouldn't expect cells to lift it back up.
Which methods get sold as stem cell therapy in Korea?
If you search stem cell therapy Korea or stem cell Seoul, three quite different things come up, and only one of them is a procedure.
- Your own fat, processed into cells. This is Pascal's activated cell therapy. It can be planned alongside facial fat grafting when volume is part of the problem.
- A stem cell drip. An IV infusion marketed for whole-body wellness. It isn't on Pascal's treatment list.
- A stem cell booster. A serum or ampoule applied after a laser or microneedling session. These products generally contain no living cells; most are extracts or culture media taken from cells.
The US Food and Drug Administration warns consumers that many regenerative medicine products on the market are unapproved, and that some have caused serious harm. Its advice is to ask whether a product is approved or being studied in a proper clinical trial before you agree to it (FDA consumer information).
Quotes for these three can't be lined up against each other. One involves fat harvest and anesthesia; the others don't.
What decides the stem cell injection cost in Korea for your face?
Final quotes follow your exam, because the right procedure and its extent depend on your anatomy. That is my position, and it's the reason there's no single figure for this treatment on our price list. These are the parts that move it:
| What changes | Why it moves the cost |
|---|---|
| Fat harvest | How much fat is needed and where it comes from |
| Treated areas | One zone, such as under the eyes, or the whole face |
| Combined surgery | Fat grafting, scar work or a facelift in the same visit |
| Days in Seoul | How long your plan keeps you here |
Your days in Seoul belong in your own total too, and your hotel nights follow the plan we set at the exam.
Say you're 46, the hollows under your eyes have deepened, your cheek skin feels thin and dry, and you have nine days in Seoul. The first thing I'd want to know is whether the under-eye area is hollow or whether fat is pushing forward. The second picture is a job for lower eyelid surgery, not cells. If it's hollowing with thin skin, I'd talk through a small harvest and one treated area. If you also want the whole face treated and fat grafted to the cheeks, the harvest grows and the plan takes more of your days. Two people asking about stem cell injection cost in Korea can walk away with quotes that differ for exactly that reason.
If you need a number to plan your trip budget, put the question this way on WhatsApp: what would it cost for my case, with these photos and these areas? A coordinator passes your photos to your surgeon and replies with options and the matching price-list lines, and your surgeon confirms the plan in person.
Add two details to that message: your travel dates, and anything else you're considering in Seoul, such as fat grafting or eyelid surgery. The options you get back can then reflect a combined plan and the days you actually have.

Cells are the wrong spend in several situations, and hearing that before you book saves you a trip.
- Your main concern is sagging. Heavy jowls or a loose neck are a lifting problem. Ultherapy or a facelift addresses where tissue sits; cells don't.
- You want a whole-body effect. A facial cell treatment won't do what drip advertising promises, and I won't present it that way.
- You can't stop smoking for two weeks. Aftercare asks for no alcohol or smoking for at least 2 weeks, because both work against healing tissue.
- Flying out the next morning leaves no margin if swelling or bruising is heavier than you expected.
Doctor's note
Skin has to work before it can look better. A thinned fat layer under dry skin is a structural problem, and that's where cells from your own fat make sense to me. If what I find is tissue that has dropped, I'll point you toward lifting, even if you came in asking for cells.
What reviews of Korean stem cell treatments get right and wrong
Threads about Korean stem cell treatment tend to repeat a few claims.
“You look fuller the next day.” Partly true. Early fullness is mostly swelling, and it settles. Changes in skin texture take longer to judge.
“It's all the same stem cell thing.” Not true. A review of a drip or a booster tells you nothing about a treatment made from your own fat, and the reverse holds too.
“One session does it.” For some people. Reviews also rarely mention the harvest site, which can be the sorer part for the first few days.
How long is recovery after activated cell therapy?
How long the treatment takes, which anesthesia is used and how many sessions you need are set at the exam, and recovery varies from person to person. Swelling and bruising are possible, and your surgeon gives you aftercare instructions to follow.
As general advice, and your surgeon's instructions come first: drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen daily, skip alcohol and smoking, and avoid hot saunas, jjimjilbang, deep cleansing and exfoliation until you're told the skin is ready.
Pascal is open Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00, and closed on Sundays and public holidays. If you land on a Sunday, plan your first visit for Monday or later.
Risks and side effects to know
Swelling, bruising and tenderness at both the injected area and the harvest site are possible, and they tend to settle with time, though how fast differs from person to person. Like any surgery, this carries risks such as bleeding, infection and inflammation, and your surgeon explains them before you decide. Individual results vary, and your surgeon confirms suitability at an in-person exam.
In general medicine, these are reasons to wait or skip it: pregnancy or breastfeeding, an active skin infection or inflammation near the area, a recent laser or peel on the same skin, and a bleeding disorder or blood-thinning medication. Raise any of them before you book flights.
After you fly home, spreading redness, heat, worsening pain, discharge or fever are not ordinary swelling. See a doctor at home promptly and show them what was done. The CDC's medical tourism guidance suggests carrying copies of your medical records and arranging follow-up care at home before you travel.

When you come to Sinsa, your surgeon examines your face and recommends the treatment that fits, whether that's activated cell therapy, fat grafting or lifting.
Frequently asked questions
Is activated cell therapy the same as a stem cell drip?
No. Activated cell therapy uses your own cells from your own fat and is injected into the face or damaged skin. A drip is an IV infusion, and it isn't on Pascal's treatment list.
Why isn't there a fixed price for this treatment on the Pascal price list?
The published list prices are shown before 10% VAT, and this treatment is quoted after your exam. The amount of fat harvested, the areas treated and any surgery combined with it change the quote.
How many sessions will I need?
That is set at the in-person exam, once your surgeon has seen your skin and heard your goals. Ask about it there.
Can it be planned together with fat grafting or other surgery?
Fat grafting and cell therapy sit together on Pascal's treatment list. Mention every procedure you're considering when you message, and your surgeon plans the combination at the exam.
What anesthesia is used?
That is decided at the exam and depends on your plan. Ask your surgeon which option applies to you.
