Read this before you compare quotes or book a flight.
You'll learn what reviews get right and wrong, how the methods differ, how much recovery time to plan, and what decides the price. With that, you can judge what kind of surgery your nose may need and what it means for your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Bae Seung-joo, a Director at Pascal Clinic in Seoul.
I'm a plastic surgery specialist with an MD and PhD, and I trained in reconstructive plastic surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Rhinoplasty, including revision of earlier nose surgery, is part of my work at Pascal. Our price list is published in Korean won before 10% VAT, and rhinoplasty appears on it as quoted after an exam.
I wrote this because people often compare one headline number for a nose job, when two noses with the same goal can need very different operations.
The cost of rhinoplasty in Korea is set by what the surgery has to do: a first operation or a revision, an implant or your own tissue, how much tip work is involved, the anesthesia, and the days you spend in Seoul. I won't put a figure in this article, because a figure given without your nose in front of a surgeon would mislead you.
Send clear front and side photos of your nose in daylight on WhatsApp, and ask which parts of your nose would need work. A coordinator passes them to your surgeon and replies with options, and for rhinoplasty, photos are enough to get a range.

Rhinoplasty, facelift, jaw surgery and scar revision are quoted after an exam, because the price depends on the extent of surgery. A nose is several structures, and each one can need work or not.
The upper bridge is bone and the lower bridge is cartilage. The tip is shaped by paired cartilages under the skin, and the skin itself can be thick or thin. Raising a low bridge on a nose with a strong tip is a different operation from raising the bridge and reshaping a soft, wide tip. Seen this way, the Korea rhinoplasty cost question is a question about which of those parts need work.
A range from photos is a starting estimate. The final quote follows your exam, because the right procedure and extent are set by your anatomy.
Methods: implant, your own tissue, or both?
Rhinoplasty for a low nasal bridge raises the height of the bridge and tip using an implant or your own tissue, as our low nasal bridge rhinoplasty page describes. The two routes differ in what the operation involves.
Risks and side effects to know
- An implant raises the bridge without taking tissue from elsewhere. A 2014 review of Asian rhinoplasty in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open describes implants as widely used for bridge augmentation, with known risks such as infection, shifting, and the implant showing through thin skin.
- Your own cartilage, typically from the septum, ear or rib, avoids foreign material but adds a harvest step. Rib cartilage adds a second operative site.
- Many plans combine the two, with an implant on the bridge and cartilage at the tip, where the skin is under more pressure.
Which route fits isn't a style choice. It follows your skin thickness, how much height you want, and what tissue is left if you've had surgery before. Each route changes the time in the operating room, the anesthesia and the follow-up, so each changes the price.
What decides the Korea rhinoplasty cost for your nose
| Factor | Why it moves the cost |
|---|---|
| First surgery or revision | Revision means working around scar, old implants and used cartilage |
| Implant, own cartilage or both | Harvesting cartilage adds an operative step and time |
| Tip work | Reshaping tip cartilage adds steps beyond raising the bridge |
| Anesthesia | The type used changes staffing and monitoring |
| Days in Seoul | Accommodation, meals and follow-up visits before you fly |
| VAT | Our list prices are before 10% VAT |
Combining procedures adds to both the quote and the stay. If you're weighing nose and cheekbones together, our cheekbone reduction travel guide covers the longer stay contouring needs.
Our price lists are in Korean won. Ask the coordinator for a conversion at the time of booking, because exchange rates change.
Why does revision usually cost more?
Revision rhinoplasty corrects problems after a previous nose surgery, such as asymmetry, inflammation or implant movement. For revision, the final quote depends on the condition of the tissue after your earlier operation.
Say you had an implant placed in your bridge years ago. Now the bridge looks slightly off-center, the skin over it has thinned, and a surgeon at home told you revision would be difficult. Before any range means much, I'd want to know three things: whether the implant has moved or has a thick capsule of scar around it, how much healthy cartilage remains in your septum, and whether the skin can safely cover another implant. If the skin is thin, I'd lean away from a new implant on its own and toward your own tissue, which usually means a longer operation and a harvest site. That's where a revision quote moves furthest from a first-time one.
Doctor's note
With revision, the price question and the surgical question are the same question. Until I can see and feel what the earlier operation left behind, I can't tell whether the plan is swapping an implant or rebuilding support. I aim for a nose that looks like it belongs to your face, and getting there safely matters more to me than a number that looks good in a message.
If you've had nose surgery before, write down what was done, when, and the implant or graft material if you know it. Then ask the one question: is revision likely to help my nose? Pascal treats revision cases for noses, and with your photos and those details, the team tells you whether a revision is likely to help.

Read enough threads about rhinoplasty cost in Korea and a few claims keep coming back.
“The price I got by message was the final price.” Partly true. A photo range is a fair starting point, but the final quote follows the exam, and a revision quote especially can move once the tissue is seen.
“Swelling is gone in two weeks.” Bruising and the obvious swelling often fade in that window. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons notes that the nasal contour can take up to a year to fully refine, and the tip is often the last part to settle.
“Implants always cause problems eventually.” That doesn't match the medical literature. Implants are widely used for bridge augmentation and carry specific risks, such as infection or shifting, which is a reason to choose the material carefully for your skin.
Recovery: how many days to plan in Seoul?
Days in the city are part of any Korea rhinoplasty cost, so plan them before you book flights. In general, an external splint commonly stays on for about a week, and bruising around the eyes often fades over one to two weeks. Ask your surgeon when it's reasonable to fly for your type of operation.
Build in time for the exam, the surgery and the follow-up visits your surgeon asks for. Pascal is open Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00, and closed on Sundays and public holidays, so a follow-up can't fall on a Sunday. The clinic is at Sinsa Station (Line 3 · Shinbundang Line), Exit 8, and staying near that line keeps the trips short while your face is still swollen.
Say you land on a Thursday. You'd plan the exam for Friday, keep Sunday free for rest, and count your follow-up visits from the surgery day before choosing a return date. Every day you add is a line in your Seoul rhinoplasty cost, so count them before you choose a hotel.
What can go wrong, and who should wait?
The common temporary effects are swelling, bruising, a blocked feeling in the nose and some numbness of the skin, easing over weeks. Surgery carries risks such as bleeding, infection and inflammation, and your surgeon explains them before you decide. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons also lists anesthesia risks, poor wound healing, breathing difficulty, a hole in the septum, and a result you don't like that may need another operation. With implants, infection and shifting are the specific risks to know.
As general medicine, it's usually wise to wait if you have:
- an active cold, sinus infection or skin infection on the nose
- a pregnancy
- a smoking habit you can't pause, since smoking slows healing
- blood-thinning medication (don't stop a prescribed medicine on your own)
- a nose that may still be growing, in the mid-teens
If you're home and notice a fever, spreading redness, discharge, an implant edge showing or moving, or a sudden change in breathing, see a local doctor promptly. Bring your operation notes so they know what was done. Individual results vary.
What to send for your own figure
For a number that fits your nose, send a side photo and your travel dates on WhatsApp and ask what the Korea rhinoplasty cost would look like for you. When you come to Pascal in Sinsa-dong, your surgeon examines your nose in person and recommends the approach that fits it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get an exact rhinoplasty price before I travel?
Photos sent on WhatsApp get you a range for rhinoplasty. The final quote follows the in-person exam, because the right procedure and extent are set by your anatomy, and list prices are before 10% VAT.
Is rib cartilage rhinoplasty quoted higher than an implant alone?
Usually, because harvesting rib cartilage adds a second operative site and more time in the operating room. Whether you need it is decided by your skin thickness, the height you want and any earlier surgery.
Can I get a quote in US dollars?
Pascal's price lists are in Korean won. Ask your coordinator for a conversion at the time of booking, because exchange rates change between your first message and your trip.
How soon can I fly home after rhinoplasty?
There's no single answer for every nose. A splint commonly stays on for about a week, and your surgeon will tell you when flying is reasonable after your follow-up visits, so keep your return date flexible.
Can a nose operated on elsewhere be revised at Pascal?
Pascal treats revision cases for noses. Send your photos and the details of your previous surgery, and the team will tell you whether a revision is likely to help before you plan the trip.
